One of my lovely students asked for some photos on Multicultural Environments. I have come across a few in my travels, have a look.
I had the pleasure today to visit a good friends centre. I must say I am always impressed with the centres foyer and today was no different. Have a look at what has been created using all natural and recycled materials. What a beautiful way to teach children the many ways natural materials can be used and respected.
Have a look….
I had the pleasure today to visit a centre that have been adding a range of items and experiences to teach and acknowledge the Aboriginal Culture.
I want to support these girls and anyone wanting to make positive changes.
Click away to a great online resource
The online resource package has been developed to assist early intervention service providers, parents and teachers by providing information and resources to support children with ASD transition into Queensland schools.
The resource aims to provide a broad understanding of the support available for children and young people with ASD.
I had such a lovely day today visiting a 2 – 3 yr old room with a group leader that has been implementing ideas from this Blog.
The room was so settled, children engaged and educators calm and happy.
It was wonderful to see.
Thank you Poh Lin.
To achieve this in your learning space have a look at this great post on Childhood 101,play, learning, growing.
“The space we live in has a powerful influence over us, particularly the space we grew up in…The spaces that teachers [parents/child care educators] create for children seem to hold enduring memories for them that have a powerful influence on what that will value later in life.”
-Susan Fraser, Authentic Childhood, 2000
In my travels I have spoken with educators wanting to know more about Play based Programs and Reflective Practice.
I discoverd this fantatic poem to give to parents ……..
WHEN YOUR CHILD COMES HOME MESSY
Red paint in the hair? Blue paint on the jeans? Sand in the shoes?
Butter on the favourite shirt? White socks look brown?
Sleeves a little damp?
