When teaching students about OHS processes in childcare I often talk about the importance of  experiences that give children opportunities to take risks. The more risks a child takes the more confident a child. I was very impressed with the article -

Why Mother Nature motivates our children to play in emotionally exciting ways.

I am thoroughly enjoying your posts and all your ideas for play, creativity and so on.. loving being challenged to think about play for both the preschool class I work in and my daughter who is 15 months. I’m SO pleased to see that there are others out there AND have researched the importance and benefits of play. I totally agree that we need to allow for more free play, especially in a world where, sadly, children are being made to grow up way too quickly.
Thanks again for sharing all your experience, research, ideas and FUN!

You are more than welcome Miss K. I believe one of the most beautiful moments in life is when you can see a child learn through their play. It sets them up for life. Keep up the great work.
